How can I get a flat stomach?  Are you tired of looking at a stomach that sticks out?  You many be surprised at how easy it is to obtain that flat stomach you’ve always wanted.  Rather than fat, this could be caused by bloating.  But how can you get rid of  this bloating and get a flat stomach?    Many people think that they have water weight gain when their stomachs stick out, but it is actually intestinal gas.  There are several quick fixes that can eliminate this gas and help you get a flat stomach again.

Food allergies can cause bloating.  The most common are dairy and wheat.  If you suspect that you have an allergy or intolerance to one of these, try to eliminate them one at a time from your diet and see if you notice a difference.

One of the largest causes of bloating is from constipation.  You need to slowly increase your fiber intake from fruits, vegetables, whole grains and nuts.  Drink lots of water - about eight glasses a day.  Exercise is also important.  A thirty minute walk every day will help.

Chew your food completely and slow down your eating.  When you eat fast, you also take in air which will bloat your stomach.  When you thoroughly chew your food and slow down your eating, you will find that you eat less.

Reduce your salt intake.  If you eat a lot of processed foods, you are probably consuming too much sodium.  Make sure you read the labels and avoid all high sodium items.

Cruciferous vegetable such as broccoli and cauliflower and also beans can cause gas if you don’t eat them on a regular basis.  Instead of avoiding them, you should introduce them slowly and eat them more often, so your system gets used to them.  Beano is excellent to use until your system adjusts to them.

Don’t eat large meals.  Break your meals into five or six smaller meals.  This is easier on your digestive system and keeps you from bloating.

Avoid artificially sweetened drinks and food and carbonated drinks.  They cause stomach bloating.  Chewing gum also can cause bloating, because you are taking in air while you are chewing.
